The following projects are Self-Directed, seperate (most prior) to studying at UniSA.
Ranging from furniture, acoustic & electronic percussion to pre-fabricated/modular structures.

Pre-Fabricated Modular Studio
Built in 2009, Relocated & Rebuilt in 2012 & Still in use today.
Built as a rehearsal space/studio that can be erected within any building as a free standing structure to allow for band practice/rehearsal/recording in residential areas without upsetting neighbours.
Designed as a modular unit as the studio had to be suitable for rental properties and also be able to change shape to suit varying sized rooms.
All wall sections are the same size & consist of a wooden frame with an outer layer of plasterboard with 50mm of concrete cast to the inside surface.

2016
My first 3 Solid Timber Snare Drums.
Made from off-cuts from the"Ripple Lounge" from the Henley Beach re-development & furniture in the New Royal Adelaide Hospital.
All 3 Snare shells (and accompanying jigs) were made using a drop-saw, router & drill press, not to mention A LOT of sand paper.
This slide show shows some of the processes including my machining and jig setups.

Restoration & Modification of an existing kit.

All chrome Hardware re-coated satin black.
This started as an experiment with a "neglected" drum-kit that has now seen it transformed into my regular "Live" kit, as seen in the following link

Low frequency custom built microphone suspended inside kick-drum.
This kit was made with x2 Bass Drums, x7 Toms & x4 Snare drums so that the kit could be configured for a wide range of musical styles.

Flat Pack Office Furniture
2010
Modular Office-Furniture
Made from Black Laminated Particle Board & Red Cast Acrylic.
This was my first attempt at designing and building furniture. I needed something that could be adapted to different rooms and also eliminated the need to attach shelves to walls (suitable for renting).
All parts were cut on CNC routers and Laser cutters and assembled easily by hand. The only “finishing” that was required was the edge strips of laminate.
